No, I don't have an account with BMO.

Went in with two hundreds, no lineup, asked for twenties, got rejected flat. I guess there are commemorative twenty hunters on the prowl.

Naw I mean they probably had someone come in and cleaned them out. I didn't even ask for nickels.

They used the 1960's stamp portrait on the holographic part of the polymer bill. They also supposedly printed 40 million of them, more than enough one for every Canadian - and yet it always works out that one or two people end up getting the vast majority of anything even remotely collectable.

Some people like to get achievements in Videogames, others like to collect nickels. Some like both.

No conspiracy theory. But its pretty sad that one of the main stated abilities of a bank is to facilitate commerce. Not having enough cash to cover what would have to be a tiny collectors base - shows lack of ability and weakness.

If/when/never the world goes completely digital, that does mean things like paper cheques, plastic cards, plastic bills, and iron coins will still be used.

I wouldn't go so far as to say banks are becoming incompetent, but they are definitely less able.
