Just wondering where the best place to go have some rock chips in the hood and a scratch on a door fixed. Also where is the best place in town for 3M?

I've heard that 3M Trimline is a good place for the the 3M tape.

how well does that stuff work? does it really help alot against, say, rock chips from the highway? if it does then maybe I'd get my front and mirrors done.

From what I've seen, the stuff works great for small rocks and bits of gravel. I think you're still going to have problems if a big rock comes your way. And the tape is way better than a car bra.

3M stone guard IMO is the best product out there. I am actually dropping an E55 AMG off at 3M trimline today to have the whole front end done. My aunt owns the shop and they do spectacular work. There has been a few people on here that have had their vehicles done and were pretty happy. They are the only people certified by 3M to apply it, and if someone wants them to touch such vehicles as a Ford gt40, E55 AMG, 350Z convertable Ferrari 355 spyder and many other sick vehicles, I would say they have a good reputation. PM me your vehicle and I will get you a quote.

3m rock chip is wicked
but besure to get it for ur windshield too.

i've found whenever a rock hits the 3m stuff the next target is the windshield!

you can't put it on your windshield (legally) there is nothing you can do to fully protect your windshield. You can put whats called ricochet on a two inch or so border of your windshield and thats it. It distorts proper vision when applied to the whole windshield.

I had my benz's 3m'd and lemme tell ya, best money spent ever. Even on a black car, u can't see the 3m until you're up close. There are still stone chips if you buy the normal kit, because it only covers 90% of the area. Get a custom kit done, well worth the money.

is there a certain amount of time you should wait after you paint to get it 3M'd?

A friend of mine was getting his front end painted at Maranello. The guys at Maranello said that the paint should set for 2-3 days before applying the 3M tape.

ive got it on mine, it works amazing. Money well spent, a few still will come thru if the rocks are big enough. But it keeps all the small ones from wrecking the finish.
