Android - acer - getting rid of ez widget

OK, short of custom rom ... Is there a way to get rid of this pink useless browser that constantly crashes? Setting app preferences to chrome doesn't work - it works once then goes back to the stupid widget. Can't uninstall the widget...

If its an App that came with the phone, you may have to "root" the phone so that you can disable or remove, unremovable, Apps. I do it with all my phones.
