54 in Cranston, but I'm in a cul-de-sac and half the cul-de-sac doesn't participate, so we don't get too many coming in. We gave out full size bars as well, which the kids loved.

9 kids in Cranston and I'm on a main street. What the fuck?? I live at kind of a T intersection so people crossing the street go to either one of the neighbors and continue on missing me entirely. We watched tons of kids cross the street and bypass our house to go left or right. Lights were on from 6-9

In 2013 we had 39, in 2014 we had 29 and this year we had 9. Why even bother anymore?

I shut it down at about 8:45. wasn't much more from the last update. I figure 160-170 kids, which is impressive as we are in the far back corner of a crescent...

65 in McKenzie Lake.
2 very elaborate "haunted house" types across the street take a lot of our traffic.

I'd say 100+ We were giving out a piss load of candy, we had return visitors because of our dogs haha.

2 small bags of doritos and 4 bite size candys each kid made us super popular.

Tempted to go full sized next year.

Sucks not having a sidewalk in front of the house this 1 day of the year.

Maybe 25. Twice last years number.

Just like every halloween though, I drove to get take-out around 6:30, and there were 100 kids on the main drive, but hardly any come up our cul-de-sac. My belly is disgustingly full of leftover cheap chocolate and sugar now. :barf:

Wife insists on giving out non-candy items, so kids at our house got pencils, glow sticks and other shit like that.

Haha I also noticed the chips went before the chocolate bars. Weird generation of kids these days.

We had a couple of Asian kids ask if they could have a handful. I'm like no, you get one. They're full sizes candy bars lol.

Probably got 50-60 in Auburn bay, wonder if its cause our neighbours didn't give out candy but lights on from 530 till 9, traffic died off around 8pm. Ended up giving any kids that came after 8 handle fulls of candy.

I still can't get over how warm this Halloween was. My builder had the sprinkler on his newly sodded lawn yesterday!!!

We moved here in 2001. All the Halloween's I remember were always cold and snowy. One year the fog machine wouldn't work on our patio as it was -30. Another year, the little guy slipped on some ice and hurt his tailbone. But it seemed every year had snow and freezing temperatures. The one year we took the kids trick or treating at West Edmonton Mall, and I thought how cool that was, being able to wear any costume and not have to cover it up with a snow suit!! It just seemed the norm to expect temps in the minuses and snow everywhere.

Maybe there really IS global warming?!!

We only had maybe 25-30 kids in Canyon Meadows. They started before 5 and it was still light out. They came maybe every 15 minutes with usually 3-5 per time.

You'd think with it being on the perfect day, and having the perfect weather there would've been more.

Only had about 10 kids come by in Albert Park, was waiting for 1 more kid to come to call it a night and just dump the rest of our candy in their bag but nobody came past 7:30.

Local weather is not global warming. But you're right, it was a nice change for an actual warm Halloween. Last year was cold as hell.

Did anyone get or hand out peanuts in the shell?

Back in Abbotsford, in every EI community that's all you would get. And just two or three.

They'd buy a big bag full from the bulk section at Superstore and hand those out as treats.

They had that much candy to hand out?? Or were they counting from the window? We had about 150 in panorama hills but we live between the new Jr. High and elementary school. I Was about to turn off the lights at 7:30 and had a group of about 20 kids come and I had to start cheaping out and could only give the last few kids 1 piece of candy each instead of my usual 3-4 pieces each.

Like I said Halloween is always a mixed bag. I can't be bothered but maybe Speedog wants to look up the actual historic data back say 30 years? Maybe I'm crazy but I don't think temps have been all that out of the ordinary for Halloween recently.

We were getting low so i toned it down on the per kid serving and one kid just looked at me and said "Thats it?"

I took my candy back and said "There, thats better" and gave extra to the kid beside him.

We only served about 60 as we didn't get enough. Last year we had maybe 40. This year now that the subdivision is finished, our neighbors got over 150.

I let kids pick their own from a bowl this year. I had a 2 year old come and pull candy out of his bag and try to give it to me. :D
His parents said he did that at every house.

I bought all my chocolate separately so I had a separate bowl for peanut allergy kids. Some parents were very appreciative when I asked (I only asked for kids 5-ish and under. If you don't know what you can have and not die by 5 years old there's something wrong)

Smarties were ridiculously popular..., followed by kit kat then reeses cups. Now I have a bunch of coffee crisp and mr. big left over

We had maybe 30-50 in Glenneagles (Cochrane) that were local or from the area.

What really wasn't considerate were the vehicle loads of families with 5-6 kids from the reserve who felt it was okay to park in my drive way while they circled the few blocks/circle snagging as much candy as possible. No costumes, no effort just pillow cases and kids as old as 18+ and even the parents all with their hands out.

It was our first year there, but it got real old real quick and we actually saw other small children not bother coming up to our house when there was a family lineup about 12 deep all asking for more.

Was an interesting night. :banghead:

In Mountain Park, normally get 50 or so. Thought with warm weather and falling on a weekend we'd get more so we bought enough candy for 100 to be safe. Only got 50 kids to the door.

Maybe. I remember the same thing, we had to quit last year because it got too cold. This year, we had to quit because the costume was too hot. Needed to ask a random house for some water because the kid was sweating so much.

Most (white) parents are lazier/paranoid now, and do the indoor mall trick or treat thing.

Out of our 25 kids, only 4 or 5 were white, a little weird considering 95% of our community is caucasian. I didn't see a single one of the dozen white kids that are our "alley" neighbors.

60 kids, New Brighton area.

60 was more than I expected since my house doesn't have a sidewalk. The neighbour across the street from me went all out with a haunted house, and apparently he does it every year. I had many kids who were driven to my block just to see this guys house, so that helped my kid count for sure lol

As we live out in the country, we went to my parents' house in Braeside.

97 kids with the last ones coming at 8:50. My husband had to run to the 7-11 at 8:30 to pick up some full sized chocolate bars as we were running out. In fact, I ended up giving two kids a handful of Werther's originals that my mom had laying around until the extra chocolate arrived.

My mother has been keeping track since 1982 and this was a record (93 in 2012). Having grown up in the neighbourhood, it's nice to see that the community has rejuvenated itself with lots of toddlers and elementary school aged kids.

At least in that area, I think it's more of a case of the kids are now adults, but the parents still live there. Everyone we know in the area is still the original resident, but their kids are long gone from home. Neighborhoods full of new families probably see a lot more.
