I been back in Calgary for 10 years and I have to say... It's definitely the dodge rams by a mile... But what do I know, I drive a BMW lol... They just seem to be owned by younger guys, whereas the other makes are older more respectable drivers.

Dodge...110%

Blizzard conditions, hwy 2 is one lane and everybody's going 60-70. Wait, there's some jackass coming up on the left going 120, HID's blazing...yep, a Dodge...every. single. time. I do a ton of highway driving and every winter this happens over and over.

I want to go test drive a RAM on a snowy day, just to see what it possibly could be about those trucks that inspire such confidence in their owners. They must handle snowy/slippery/blizzard/whiteout conditions like a boss.

And as far as the aforementioned GMT400's every kid has with straight pipes, I agree, they're plenty d-bag too. Trouble is those trucks are running long after Fords and Dodges from that era are long dead (save for early ram cummins) making the gmt400's the Civic of trucks, they last forever and cheap to buy and every kid has one.

Typically a douche drives:
A) Dodge
B) Diesel

A mega douche typically drives:
Cummins

Voted dodge as the worst, although I have known plenty of douchebags in all brands.

I would say the surest signs of dougbaggery are:
Off road tires on a 1-ton
Diesel
Rolling Coal
Lift kits
Zombie Apolcalipse style bumpers

And for the win some kind of "Lifestyle brand" stickers across the back window, like Metal Mulisha, etc.

Words escape me, honestly. Can't begin to describe how much I hate idiot truck drivers. But here I go.

Fox racing sticker, metal mullisha sticker... Really any stickers on a pickup at all just instantly let me know the owner is a fucktard.

It's definitely not limited to lifted trucks either, I see lots of stock pickups being driven like they're hot shit. I was driving to work on stoney a few weeks ago and some tool was in his COMPANY TRUCK passing everyone doing 170 on the left shoulder... What the fuck, dude? I've NEVER seen anyone ripping by on the shoulder like that, and of course the one time I do it's a pickup truck.

They just completely fail to comprehend the physics of it. Fucking pickups weigh 6000-10,000lbs. Driving douchey in a car is one thing, at least they can turn and stop.

well you know, an unloaded light rear end on leaf springs and solid axels provide such an advantageous handling profile, that nothing can keep up.

Add 37" eply mud terrains and you're ready to take the road up to the mac in the dead of winter.

This popped up on my f/b feed tonight lol.
http://i68.tinypic.com/newzfm.jpg

Was out on the road with a new deployment from Quebec a few years ago in Red Deer. We pull up at a set of lights on Gaetz he asks whats with all the jacked up trucks out here. Asks what this "D Bag" Stereotype rigger out here that he had heard so much about on Depo.
I give the list.
It will be:
A jacked up 5-8 year old Dodge with optional smoke stacks out the truck bed.
It will be black or dark grey.
It will have some sort of Metal Mulisha sticker or stickers on it.
It will have a Cummins sticker. Bonus points for the derrogatory variety like "Cummins on your girlfriend." ETC.
It will have a slip tank, but it will be empty if no "freesel" is available.
It will have a rediculous lightbar array.
It will bellow smoke and accellerate at wide open throttle at all times. All times. All hours. All places. Twice as much in the summer. 4 times as much if first at a stop light.
It will have a white male driver between 22-34 years of age not originally of this province, 5'7-5'10", wearing an MMA shirt, a hat on backwards, with white Oakley Gas Can glasses and a goatee of sorts, arm tattoos of various dragons or kois or barbed wire tribal motif of sorts are also attributes.
This truck driver combo then proceeded to pull up opposing us at the light turning across traffic. The description was 100%. My colleague was blown away.

I smiled and said: thats nothing, we will see that at the next light. We did. 'cept the truck was white.
Your opinions or experienes may vary lol
Also...all welding duellys driven by the above noted driver also qualify

Yep. My stock height 2500 got me up and down every lease road in Northern Alberta just as well as the lifted bro trucks on 37s. Even on the stock pussy tires, it worked just fine. My only 'mod' was a more aggressive set of Duratracs when the stock tires wore out.

What I've noticed a lot of lately are specifically black (or white, but the heavy majority are black) 2012-2015 Sport 1500s, everywhere, my end neighbor has one, his brother has one and 2 of his friends that come over regularly have one, all sporting the same identical criteria more or less:

-usually with a black plastic bed tonneau

-angel eyes w/ aftermarket HIDs

-some combination of black and chrome aftermarket rims, 20s and up in the summer, for winter some 17s/18s with more aggressive than usual mudders or almost crawler type tires

-borderline illegal tint all around

-straight pipe to let that Hemi badge really shine

He is a rigpig too I believe  backwards flat brimmed hat, 90's neon sunglasses, DC sneakers loosely laced etc, is there a factory where they produce clones of these particular human beings?

Where's the originality guys, it seems like there's only 3 styles for a Ram: diesel lifted, hemi black everything and stock.

Yah. Mine is a white 1500 stock. A little while ago, I was driving down Geatz in Red Deer and there were 3 other stock (or slightly modded) white 1500's along side me. Same gen. Man it's brutal. Everyone has white or black.

I'd like to know the percentage of people who buy trucks for truck things vs those who just buy them for DD. Most people I know bought them because of the cargo space they never use. Buy a wagon if you need the space the odd time. Only time I really needed a truck was for drywall sheets, the 8-11ft studs fit in the back or on the roof rack of my beater forester. Doesn't cost me $120 to fill the tank either.

Nobody wants to let trucks in because they assume they're all dbags, so people in trucks have to drive like dbags to be able to merge or change lanes without people speeding up to block them. I started noticing it a ton when I started having to drive trucks for work, both pickups and box trucks.

I can't count how many guys I have worked with that drive trucks and say they need them for hauling stuff around despite never, ever having anything in their beds which are in better condition than my rear hatch. The truth is that most of them came from small town Alberta/Sask and that's what they grew up driving. What sucks for me is they never want to drive at lunch because their trucks are so shitty on gas.

9/10 times I see some D-bag rolling coal it's a Dodge. Not exactly scientific, but that's my observation haha.

I also know very few people who actually use their trucks as trucks (to haul/tow/offroad). They daily drive them in the city because they like to sit high or they think trucks are cool, or had some fantasy of buying a trailer and going to the mountains with it. Instead, they just end up being the guy everyone else calls when they need to move something large. Each to their own but I think it's retarded.

I fall kinda into this. I've owned suvs that disappointed when I needed space, and a 90 cavalier wagon lol. I was driving a compact (lancer) and it was too small, iIbought a half ton so I would not need to upgrade from a 1/4 in a few years blah blah blah.. I do very few need a truck things, and with economy slowing I've been considering downsizing, but I love that I can do whatever whenever I need to lol. I've been joking that calgarian is a contagious disease and I've definitely caught it haha.

Just a slight bump to this thread...

I told my brother about this thread over the holidays. He spends a lot of time driving all over Alberta/B.C. All he said was...

"It's Dodge drivers who typically drive like asshats. But it's drivers in F-350's that take lives."

I'm surprised it took 3 pages for this comment to be made. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the poll was "Dodge with tow mirrors all the way out"
