View Full Version : Remembrance Day - working or not?

My curiousity has got the best of me because of the discussion in another thread - as such, I'm wondering how many are working tomorrow (Remembrance Day) which happens to be both a federally and provincially mandate holiday.

For the record, I am working tomorrow but as a contractor it means I'm working at my regular piecework rate. Those under the direct employ of a company should either be off tomorrow or receive some sort of extra compensation depending which labour legislation they're working under.

Working, with day in lieu closer to Christmas. Pretty sure I'm not getting paid any extra.

When I worked for FGL, we would work it as well.

Not working, but not scheduled to work. So I'm getting paid to not work tomorrow, even though I wouldn't be anyways.

Of all the other holidays to pick for a day in lieu, I always question why Remembrance day? I guess holiday in the warmer months is more important than paying tribute to the lost lives.

oops wrong button, I should go to bed now.

Shift worker, on shift at 1.5 ot. If I was on days off, first day bak on shift is an ot day. So there is no benefit to being on shift.
