Looks like this, and the only ones I can find are over $100 on ebay :(

What's the purpose of that cable, other than to charge and old apple device off firewire or usb? Anything special about it? I got a fire wire cable like that...but it's just firewire, no usb.

Curious, what's the reasoning that you need firewire?

Old iDevices if they followed Apple's specifications can charge at 12V (firewire) as well as 5V (USB). Some accessories only did 12V or 5V. Years ago, Apple abandoned firewire and made all new iDevices 5V only and not work with 12V (starting with iPhone 4 I think) and a lot of old crap broke, especially car accessories that didn't output 5V. The only reason I could see someone wanting this cable would be if they wanted to charge an old device at 12V for some bizarre reason?

If it's a firewire cable you're looking for, I have one with the wall charger you can have. But you have to take the piece of shit iPod with it

I'd be surprised if this is worth anything (dock connector iPod/3rd gen).

yeah, from what I recall the firewire & usb ipod cable was for faster charging.
USB for data transfer and firewire for extra charging power, but really why bother?

you could grab this instead of the OEM one for half the price but still about ~80 CAD$

Yeah the cord is for a modified iPod that I'm trying to get working. The dual USB and firewire apparently will help with the process (plugging the firewire into a 12V brick).
