Just picked up 10 of these guidelights, 8 installed so far and loving them:

https://www.snappower.com/

Installation wasn't as smooth as advertised, a lot of my plugs had the side terminal screws sticking all the way out, so I had to screw them all in (after removing the outlet), and some were still finicky to snap in place. They look great for the kitchen counter-top plugs, very crisp white color. Make sure you don't mix up ivory with light almond color like I did, ended up replacing 4 outlets after the fact to match. Also these are very bright, I had to remove the one from the hallway by the bedroom, it lit up the whole room at night. Supposedly they only cost about $0.10/year to run. Also do a Google search for a 10% off coupon, it helps offset our craptastic dollar.

I didn't bother with the USB covers they have, you still need a cable, so why not just grab your charger at the same time :dunno: Now if they had a retractable cable built in then giddy up.

I'm going to grab a few of them, what good idea. Too bad they don't have motion sensor.

They are awesome, I have a few of them. Installation was easy for me. Turn off power, unscrew cover plate, and screw in new cover plate. The idea with the USB charger is it frees up an outlet to to plug in something else instead of your charger.

Very cool find!!! My wife has those stupid bulky night lights everywhere and I'm always knocking them off and breaking them.
Going to definitely order some.

These are definitely an improvement over the older illuminated outlets, I put a number of those in my old place, saved me from running into a lot of stuff in the middle of the night. It's too bad the Snap Powers don't work with light switches or GFCI outlets, maybe they'll design others in the future.

While not exactly the same as Snap Powers, here's a light switch / night light (dusk-to-dawn) combo:

And here's a GFCI with night light (dusk-to-dawn):

thanks i ordered some, nice that its free shipping but the exchange rate hurts.

might consider the charger one when they can put a 2.1amp charger in it. 1amp just doesnt make sense to me.

if anybody wants some of the lights, i ordered a 10 pack (white decora) and realized they're only really useful for me in the hallways, so i have 5 left, i'm selling them for $20/each, which is what i paid (after exchange, shipping, duty, etc.. give or take a few pennies) Would rather sell as a lot, LMK if you're interested before they hit kijiji

Didn't realize there was a thread for these. I put the guide lights on the plugs down all our hallways. Install was super easy for me and they're great for checking on the baby at night since we don't have to turn on the lights in the hallway.

Same. I have a couple left of the below if anyone wants. Save some shipping charges at least.

Guidelights (Decor and Duplex, both white)
Switchlights (Decor white)

So easy to install. So nice too. Now if those switchlights ever come in a "two-pole setups"
