Dare I say in the province!!

We've been here for the past couple of weeks and counting. Big push to get it finished. The new owner is spending a few dimes on it. All new LCD monitors at each sorting table, with big 55" TV's over head.

A sneak peek:

Almost done...

The old window was knocked out for this doorway to expand into the next bay. More sorting tables for the busy days.

Nice! Just because it's a bottle depot doesn't mean it can't look decent

Love that upscale-looking interior brickwork, Imbet the owner spent more than a *few* dimes on that. Who wants to get in on a group buy to redo all our houses in that? Eat your heart out inRich. :bigpimp: :bigpimp: :bigpimp:

Wait until you see the transformation of the bathrooms!!

Between the piles and piles of mouse shit and hordes of cockroaches... (*shudder*) the difference is amazing!

Btw....this is the brick tile you see on the front of the sorting tables and wainscoting: http://www.juliantile.com/brick-umber

The floor tile is a 24x24 full bodied porcelain, with a structured surface.

My Dad, who's been a commercial realtor for over 25 years, says bottle depots and car washes are probably the best money making businesses one can buy.

On topic, the North Hill bottle depot is another one that's done some considerable reno's in the last year, not quite like what Dave has shown here but definitely a step up from what they were. What they've done must be effective because I don't feel quite as dirty now when I leave.

I've wondered this before. So how do bottle depots make money?

Nothing screams upscale like brick patterned paneling tiles. :bigpimp: :bigpimp: :bigpimp:

Wow, I've only ever dealt with the ones in Forest Lawn area, this bottle depot is nicer than a lot of places around here.

Im liking the upward trend on bottle depots.

I like going to the one right by Chinook (58 Ave I think?)

Very clean in there with fast friendly service. At the end of the counting they provide you with a receipt with a barcode, which you scan at the modern change machine.

And to top it off a decent sink to wash your hands after handling those gross bottles

Looks can be deceiving. When I was house-shopping, I saw a house with that kind of living room. I showed up and it was wallpaper :banghead:

^ I was actually being sarcastic, but I guess that didn't come through - oh well, for the best I suppose.

They get paid a percentage of whatever containers come through their door, I don't know the exact rates but I think it's around 3-4 cents per 10cent bottle.
