2015 was a hard year for shooting as I didn't have a lot of time or go anywhere globally that was particularly accommodating to my shooting style. However, this allowed me to delve further into our local landscapes a little more and execute shots I had been thinking about for some time.

Peyto Lake, Icefields Parkway, Alberta

This particular shot is one I have been thinking about ever since I visited Peyto for the first time a couple years ago, which makes it my favourite from the year. Things couldn't have gotten much better - fresh snow, no one around, nice sky. It was a complete luck of the draw which is ironic considering how worried I was the lake would be frozen over by the time I planned a trip down there.

Grand Central Station, NYC

Grand Central has been on my photo bucket list for some time. I'd like another crack at this but walking away and looking back I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Sunwapta Falls, Icefields Parkway, Alberta

With fellow Beyonders taemo and Eride, we took a trip up to Jasper for 5 days during the summer. It was an incredible amount of shooting, in some cases even running (well sorta). We stopped here once but unfortunately the weather was just not playing nice. Months later I had another go at it and walked away feeling happy. What I like most about this particular shot is that nearly no processing work has been done. Experience, timing and the luck of the light at that moment helped make this one.

Maligne Lake Boathouse, Jasper National Park, Alberta

During that previously mentioned trip with fellow Beyonders, it wasn't all blundering weather. This is one where all of us were pretty excited on the location and light and marks the most memorable from that day.

Angry Crow, Fish Creek Park, Calgary

Originally out hoping for owls or eagles, this asshole of a bird was actually following me as I went down along the river. Finally I had enough and decided to head back when this crow started flying towards me. I feel this shot really conveys how much hate it had for me...

awesome time in Jasper, hopefully we can go somewhere next year again!

Went through my Flickr photostream and here are my 5 favourite images from 2015 in no specific order (so far)

Waterton - Lake Louise is nicer and has more to offer but for some reason I love Waterton Lakes

I kept seeing this spot whenever we were heading to Manhattan from Queens so I positioned myself by the window to snap this before the train goes underground.
I like this picture because it has a retro feel to it

Fairly slow year for me. No time spent shooting near the ocean which is the landscape stuff I really enjoy.

Perhaps this got buried somehow.

More participants would be great!
