Nothing of interest to me, except for an xbox live membership. Got used to buying them at $35-$40 price range over the years, so hoping to find something, but don't see any deals on that anywhere. Guess just have to pay the extra $20

This year is especially bad for deals. Nothing really stands out. But I guess it'll be worst next year as $cdn continues to dive.

That said, picked up one of these:

and
http://www.bestbuy.ca/multimedia/Products/500x500/103/10394/10394121.jpg

They are more like regular price compared to the pathetic before sale price. Haven't bought a TV for years so it's time to upgrade. I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy.

Funny how the consumer brain works hey. I'm the same way.

Ya us consumers really don't know better lol. How do we tell? All the reviews are the same for both. But Sony is JDM and LG is Korean so maybe you can make a determination from that too. But end of the day both tv's will probably preform 99% the same I bet lol.

I ordered the same TV. Looks like its a pretty new TV and it's going for about 1700USD. I don't think it's quite 1000 off but it's a fair deal.

Sony has better picture and less input lag for games compared to Sony. I have seen one in person and wish they come in 80"+ sizes, although that adds input lag.

The LG has pretty average reviews.

Not that I have seen, seems like they trying to unload 3s still but when I got mine, I got it from SportCheck. If you have friends who are in team assist, jack their 20% off coupon on any one item, otherwise you can just sign up for their newsletter online and get 10% off in store. Your best deal now would be the Sessions version, but has no screen or replaceable battery..so kind of sucks.

GoPros are some of the most oddest equipment I've come across for pricing. Even 3 year old Hereo 3+ Silver/Blacks are still going for $200-300 and they are dated by todays standards.

I myself have been looking for a good deal on a older Hero3+ camera as I figure a lot of people would be upgrading but there just isn't any out there.

That happens where there's no challenger. Heck, even their very own Session has been having bad reviews and has to drop to $150 just before Christmas while Hero 3 and 4 stands firm.

There are reviews for the Sony tv and they are pretty recent. But yeah unique model number is the oldest trick in the book, not only you can't find review, you can't price match neither since it's only supplied to specific dealers.

I just bought a Nexus 5X, Telus had 2 year contracts with "free" phone.

Doing the math, bring-your-own-phone rates were $20/month cheaper. That's $480cad, which is actually CHEAPER than going through the Google Store (phone is $499cad at the google store plus shipping). Pretty happy about that, plus I finally switched off my 5 year old student plan and got me some more data :D

I also have a price match in with NCIX on this badboy, hopefully they come through...

There is no way to tell if they have stock :dunno: So unless I spend 5 hours in the mayhem of Christmas in the big city driving my 3/4 diesel around to MAYBE find one in stock, I'd rather chill at the house and see if NCIX goes for it. *Shows up an hour later*

"Hmm, doesn't look like we have any on the shelf, let me go check out back"

"Nope, looks like our inventory is messed up and we didn't have one left! Sorry, I can't check the stock of other stores because #reasons"

Like I said, way too much effort and a strong chance for wasting a ton of time and money.

I know that I am a grumpy cunt lately, so bear that in mind.

One time I called Staples and I told the guy I was 4 hours away and needed a specific printer. He said he had it, so I asked him if he would hold it in his hands and tell me he had it. He did, and I drove down and got it. So you could do it if you wanted to.

I get a lot of shit mailed to me too, but there's a chance you could do it locally if you wanted to.

I didn't buy a single thing this year. I know I say this every time but it seems like the deals only get worse and worse. Almost every "doorcrasher" I saw was within 10% of what you could buy it for any day of the week, they just play games with the "before" price. I mostly just look at electronics though, can't speak for much else.

Haha, its all good, and you know what?

I took everyone's advice, since NCIX denied my price match.

I looked up Staples on google maps, and there is honestly 5 of them in a row on my way to work in the morning, no back tracking or fucking around required, just bam bam bam bam.

Walked into one today, mentioned to a guy what I was looking for. He whips out his palm pilot, says they've never had one in stock ever  I ask him if he can search other stores, and he certainly could!

It just so happens Fort Crack has ONE left in stock. I fly up a couple times a month for business, so I may ship it back on greyhound. I also wonder if I can now get NCIX to price match as there IS actually stock lol

I was looking for a sound bar for my condo. Picked up this one on boxing day. I wasn't able to find many good deals on sound bars

This. Most of the soundbars I saw on "sale" were the same price they sold for at costco or on amazon, or they were old models that they're clearing out anyways so they're dropping the price. I find blackfriday has better deals than boxing day, but even then it's only marginally better. Boxing day is only good for the Stat holiday. Last year I was about to buy a tv at bestbuy but then I noticed it was being sold at costco for the same (regular) price. Ended up buying it a week later at costco to avoid the lineups and the better warranty.

Browsed banana replublic and Club monaco briefly and they had 50% off already reduced items. What a joke for boxing day. BR regularly have 40% off all items in the store, so 50% on on already reduced items is a joke. I remember one year it was simply 50% off everything.

This is where having a close friend who manages a Best Buy comes in handy.

I never have to jump on deals when cost + 10% is a text away.
