Looking for recommendations on a tool box/cabinet for the garage. Looking to just get a bottom for now, eventually grab a top box. Looking for a good bang for the buck.
Quite a few people recommend the International tool box and currently see them floating in the $600 ballpark

Did you take a look at Costco?

I picked this one up for my garage and have been super happy with it. Good rollers, solid drawer bearings and has the clam shell top. Works excellent for the weekend garage mechanic!

The closest they have to what I want is the Stanley box, the 42'' on the website is classified as a 'workstation'. I could put a box on top, but I don't have a membership there either

going to check that one out today.

This. I got my Kirkland box from there and love it. Its quality built, feels solid and has plenty of space. Its well worth the $55 membership even if you were to only buy the box. I think I paid around 600

if you're that worried about the membership you can get someone who has a card to buy you a gift card and then they will let you buy with that gift card without a membership... so if its like $600, get someone to get you $500 worth of GC and then pay the rest however you want. (or you just go with them)

Canadian tire has some good boxes around that ballpark.
Usually has a sale on them too

The Crossiron location has it in stock, as of the weekend. I've scoped it out a few times and while it feels pretty well-built, I absolutely hated the drawer layout and the stupid box-drawer thing.

The $600 Husky box is IMO the best bang for your buck in hobbyist boxes. It won't hold up to full-time mechanic use, but for a weekender it's excellent.

Requote again. Thanks for the find. Went to costco at lunch today and checked it out. Seems like what I'm looking for. Sturdy (pushed down on the drawers while pulling them in and out to simulate weight), I like the look of it, and pictured all the drawers filled for what I need for now. It's $799 right now if anyone else is interested in looking. Picking one up this weekend (getting in with a friend, I have no need for a costco membership at this time, and save myself the $55.) It is a few inches by a few inches smaller then some boxes (1 3/4 inch shorter drawers then the other box I was looking at). I don't think I'll notice too much.
Not a huge fan of the drawer release on the right side of the box but I'll get used to it.

You can usually snag the Gray Tools rolling cabinets and top chest for a great deal when they have their sales. Check online for the flyer and then head over to a local dealer to pick one up.

I bought the "pro" series and was into it for $650 for the rolling cabinet and top chest. It's got an old school look to it, but the are made in Canada and good quality.

That reminds me of my old Beach toolbox. Loved that thing.

Just did a quick search online and it turns out Beach actually makes the Pro series toolbox for Gray tools, so that is why is has the same old school look to it.
