A friend's wife is getting a transfer to the US for a couple of years, and he wants to get a fun car while down there.

Budget is around $85k USD, but is flexible.

That puts the R8, newer 911s and some other fun cars in range.

What say you beyond?

Where in US? San Diego vs New York City will yield totally different suggestion.

I also assume used? I would lease new in US. They have so many good lease deals.

Houston.

Also, the fact that there are so many possibilities is the reason for the question. :)

everything from new entry level performance cars, to middle-aged semi exotics, to older exotics.

Won't be a DD.

Jaguar F-Type V8 S for Convertible.

SRT Viper GTS for coupe

Alfa 4C

All should still have warranty left at that price point and trouble free for a couple years.

Woah.

That Supra is crazy. Wonder what the story is. Thread somewhere I missed?

Current candidates:

- slightly used 991
- slightly more used audi R8
- new-ish vette/
- something Aston
- maybe stretch to a gallardo or something.
- maybe stretch to a F430
