Could it possibly be coming from the drain, and not the tap? When you brush your teeth you lean over the sink and most females are shorter (would explain why you don't smell it since she would be closer to the source)

Could be that the p-trap is getting the water sucked out of it... Could be just the super windy week we've had... Also if she uses the sink first it would explain why you don't smell it

It could be the hot water hitting the drain and bringing the smell up from the drain... I'd try running the water into a bucket or plugging the drain to be 100% sure it's the water.

Our drains smell like sulphur sometimes. Not sure what it is.

If it is indeed the water getting pulled out of the p-trap it's going to be the actual geometry of the plumbing... There might be a product you can stick on the stack to prevent it but I'm not too sure.... Last week we were getting some water being pulled out of the upstairs toilet, but not bad enough to drain it, but it's rare enough that it's that windy to make it happen so I'm not worried about it

If water is being pulled through the ptrap it could be a venting issue or the trap arm is too short creating an S trap causing the water in the ptrap to be syphoned, check beneath the lavatory to see if the trap is leaking, assuming it is in fact a drain issue.

Clean out the P-trap (take it right off, soap and water with a brush) and any stuff caught up in the drain grate. Hairballs, etc.
It's a gross job.

Very simple. Takes less then a minute.

Mostly can turn off by hand with the newer fittings.
Otherwise, use some channel locks to use less effort.
Bucket underneath after you loosen it off. Water will come out.

Poor viniger into drain (1/2 gal) slow and let it sit for a bit. It iwll help with bad smells.

Before you open up the p-trap take off the drain plug first and clean it out.

Go under your sink, on the back of the pipe leading down from the drain there will be a metal stick. Unscrew it from the pipe. Pull it out carefully and, um, hold your breath.
