Can someone that has done the a+ please let me know if this is good study material for it? I'm looking to get it done asap as I need it for a possible job.

I will put it to you very simply... 90% of the books and "tests" and "quizzes" will just end up psyching you out.

I wouldn't pay for any A+ books as there is so much free material out there and you will either know it or don't.

801 is a pretty easy test its the 802 which is a bit more difficult and a lot of people fail. Also know they are going to be retiring the 801/802 soon.

They've increased the price too I think. I was looking into doing Security+ in order to shorten the amount of time needed for Cissp. But the exams are more than $400 USD now.

We are moving everything to vendor based exams because as firebane said, A+ will be defunct soon. Vendor training is where it's at.

I think I would have been working by now if I had my a+
I keep seeing it required, so i'll just get it and be done with it.

Unless you're applying to Geek Squad, its highly unlikely that A+ would make or break an application **IF** you had the relevant experience in the required area already :dunno:

What revelations said is pretty accurate. Its such a bullshit cert that when I started out I just said I had it.
