Put some chicken in the oven today and a minute later I heard a loud crackle and a huge flame lit up the inside of the oven.

I quickly turned the oven off and left the door closed. After I while I open the oven to see if I can see anything and noticed that the corner where the flame was it seemed a bit seered around the corner where the element heats up (pic attached)

Has this happened to anyone and can I just replace the element?

are you sure the element is fucked or is it just grease on the element? Let it cool down and see if it scrapes off. if not, replace the element. also, your thread title is misleading. I expected a full on destroyed stove.

I got my replacement element from a parts store inside trail appliance. Couple screws and less than $50

Sorry guys, misleading thread title. I did think the stove was going to burst on fire for a brief second.

Don't think it was grease cause if you look closely where the bend is on the element it looks burnt off while the other ends are smooth

Flame burst inside oven =/= oven burst into flames.

Looking closely, all i see is shit on your element. Clean your oven more and it wont "burst into flames".

Everytime I cook something in our oven on a flat cooking tray, there is a loud POP/CRACK sound. When we remove said tray when the cooking time is complete, the tray is always warped and crooked. Both of our trays do this, so strange. But as soon as they cool, they lay perfectly flat again

Cheap thin pans: metal not expanding evenly.

On that note, I also don't justify the cost of expensive heavy duty pans so popping sounds #coolstorybro x3
