Old Calgary pic

I looked and I looked because I think there was an old thread on Beyond with old Calgary pictures but I could not find it.

Anyhow, stumbled upon this picture of 16th Avenue and 10th Street NW looking north and it blew me away how much different that intersection looked some 57 years ago, About the only recognizable thing is King George School in the background - would be kind of neat if that huge water tower was still around...

In 1970 an estimated population was 389,000

Well to be fair, you don't know when those photos were taken ie... early morning on a Sunday, and saying that YYC traffic is like NYC is ridiculous.

Was just in nyc over august. Not even close lol. Not only was it busy as hell it took me 1 month to wash the smell out of my clothes/bag etc

When i came back to calgary it felt like a ghost town lol

Mewata stadium! I played bantam football there with the Wildcats (formally Jaguars). So awesome.

Team used to sing Iron man by Sabbath except with Our own lyrics.

We were turned to steel, in the great Mewata field! Vengeance from the grave, kill the people we must play.
