You have a 500hp vehicle with cheap, Chinese knock-off tires?

I'm sick of the studs on my savage supercar, probably swap to the all-seasons soon. Wanted to take a look at the brakes anyway.

Wife can ride on her winters for a while yet, but maybe I'll call bob up and see when he's got time for the swap.

Put the summers on tonight. I'll enjoy the snow next week now.

I also threw the "summers" on tonight and have had my summer car out as well here and there.

Incoming blizzard!

You guys are all nuts. Its not even that nice out.

The 14 day has freezing at night 10/14 days, and highs above 10 only 2/14 days, you know at 3pm.

My alley is still frozen solid, as is my back yard. I would never even get the car out of the garage let alone back in.

Date High [°C] Low [°C] POP

My alleyway is usually frozen well into Spring, but with these warmer temps I bought a huge bag of salt and dumped a ton down and it was literally all melted by the time I got home that day! A few spots left and I just used a shovel and shoveled them into the part where the sun hits, now it's all gone!

I'm going to throw on my "summer rims" on in the next few days. They are on performance all season tires so it will be better to ride on those than eating my winter tires.

If we get a large snow fall for a few days I'll just take the bus.

I decided to throw on my summer wheels on Friday. It's a bit early for sure, but I'll just borrow my mom's subaru if the snow comes since my parents aren't back for a couple months still.

Been on summers for 2 weeks, the one day it was a bit frosty was kinda iffy but otherwise glad I swapped over, double digit weather kills my studded tires pretty quick

This winter was my first winter with a RWD and winter tires, wasn't tested once, and wasted these tires with the mild temperatures and dry roads. Not to mention having to drive around with narrow tires that looked stupid lol

Put insurance back on the summer which along with my Winter Rally Cross (WRX), also has winter tires.

I may as well put summers back on the summer car and since I have both cars insured for a month I can switch out cars as needed.

It was winter for a day or two and not ridiculous as they have been in the past.

From what I remember the worst day of winter was December 24th. By the 26th it was back to decent driving conditions.

I drank a lot over christmas though :dunno:

Yeah the roads out to Lake Louise were brutal yesterday morning. Performance winters at about 50% tread on my dad's car and we had to take it real slow.

lol i was slipping and sliding on winters. Its very wet under the snow due to the warmth in the pavement. Very dangerous conditions because they are deceiving.

This thread is giving me a good chuckle. I'm sure its all gone by noon though.

Studded?

This is relevant to my interests, I was thinking of going with Duratracs on the dmax for year round tires in a stupid brodozer size of 315/70R17 but might reconsider if they aren't good in the snow.

Non studded. I have Hakka 8s for winter but took them off already. A 1 ton will have more weight behind it and do better with Duratracs in my opinion.

Duratracs are great in snow...they just suck on typical calgary snow=ice immediately. I know that real slippery day a couple weeks back was a hairy drive in with my taco on non-studded..

My 3/4 duramax has Open Country MTs on it year round which somehow still worked well in the winter. Duratracs would be great year-round on that heavy truck.

Yea I'm pretty sure this is cleaner than they were even on delivery lol. Fucking BMW brake dust. Feels good to get it done though they really look their best this way. Good coat of wax on them as well (as best as I can do with all the grooves) so hopefully they will stay that way for a few weeks lol.
