Anyone have tips for cleaning a small blood stain out of a mattress?

Not quite as shown . . .

I thought everyone would use one of those protective cover sheets that goes underneath the sheet to protect your mattress from this sort of thing.

dissolve 3 tbsp. baking soda in 8 oz. of hydrogen peroxide then add a drop or two of liquid dish soap. Dab this solution on to the spot. Lightly spread this on the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Scrape away any residue and vacuum well

The solution that you buy for floor cleaners work really well, use a shopvac to vacuum up any leftover solution.

A Tide Stick took blood right out of a mattress easily for me (guest had a bleeding nose for those wondering lol). They are like $3, no need to pay for expensive cleaning.
