Hey Guys.

Having some issues with my transmission. Seems to not want to shift out of 2nd gear. I've read that it could be internal transmission damage, or a solenoid issue. Anywho. Not really looking for anyone on here to diagnose, but wondering if anyone on here has any experience with some good transmission guys? Preferably someone that works out of their garage or something at home. I've been nailed by this economic downturn and just recently returned to work so I've got no funds to take this to a dealer or anything right now. If anyone has any recommendations of guys they've used in the past that would be much appreciated.

By the sounds of it the most likely issue is a broken snap ring in the transmission. Anyone do any work out of their garage? Suppose to be a relatively easy job.

Pulled it apart today and snap ring was in place. No idea what could be the issue. Anyone have any experience with these trucks?

Seems I have first and second and then shoots into neutral going into third. How can I test the shift solenoid? There was nothing in the pan. Small amount of metal filings on the magnet but very little.

The forum that revelations linked to is an excellent resource. Note it's a lot slower than beyond and answers can take days instead of hours.

With my old F250, I've found the Ford discussion groups invaluable.

Have been reading all day/night on those forums haha. Looks like I'll have to buy a beater for a while until I got the cash to get the thing going again. Anyone want to sell an old beater? Haha

Thread hijack, but does anyone know if these tranny's are temperamental on what fluid they take? Dealer said my 4R75E was a little low on fluid so they topped it up, now it seems to be slipping a bit.
