Maybe you should look up rates to ferry a truck and trailer onto the island first... Isn't there a new track happening in the interior this year too?

Roughly ~$300+ each way... Yeah, would say that would factor in, especially with all the tracks just south of the border

All of my family live in Duncan/Sahtlam/Lake Cowichan.
If i ever drive out there again to visit ( funerals and weddings generally  ) it would be great to get a few laps in.
That spot of land is a ton smaller than it looks as a note. Still, its ridiculous that they can get this built in hippy land with almost no notice or planning and we cant do shit in the flat plains of redneck alberta :banghead:

edit: Initially thought that it was a private membership club only but looks like it will be open to clubs for daily rentals as well.

Since we are on the topic of BC race track, has anyone been to Mission Raceway in Maple Ridge, BC?

I have watched a few demo derby's there and know a buddy used to race his 944 there. Its in Victoria though which is a PIA to get to from the rest of the island.

Vic for sure has a road course type track, that's where all the drifting happens, haven't been there but seen lots of media and it sure isn't an oval, yeah area 27 is the one I was thinking of, saw something recently that ground has broke and should be race worthy some time this year... As for not trailering... I have a land yacht, a truck... And a little old Datsun... Two wouldn't be all that great as track cars and the other is not all that fun to sit in for 14hrs! Haha...

Yeah, the red plates wouldn't help either...

Any track in Western Canada is a good thing even if I can't afford to make it this year.

I am excited about this new track in Duncan, but I doubt I can figure out a way to actually get on it this year
I'm pretty upset about our auto x situation but maybe it's the push to get into time attack and Spec Miata soon.
Just gotta beg the bank of dad to finance my race career I guess :P

I think the real downside people are missing here is you have to pass through / stay in duncan to get there :barf:
And yea phreak you are right i am mixing some track names up. Cant remember for the life of me what the one by victoria is called.

Western speedway... Which I guess technically is an oval after all... But doesn't looked banked and has a paved infield? Maybe?
