New house has something like 12 or 15 heating/cooling zones (mechanical room has a lot of servos).

Is it best to just Nest the whole thing up and be done with it? Is there a more effective solution?

I would probably look at a automation solution for something like this. I find Nest lack features. I assume some of those heating zones are things like in floor heating.

Are you pretty technical and interested in a more configurable solution or would you rather something simple?

Definitely not. You might even exceed the number of units that can be assigned for one location.

They are a pretty consumer grade product that kind of hangs it's hat on cool design and ease of use rather than professional functionality.

If you do go that route I would be calling nest support to see what they say on that matter.

I bet a single professional automation product would almost be cheaper too.

What's wrong with the current system?
