Ended up just buying a cheapie from Princess Auto. Had three beyonders offering up theirs as loaners within 20 minutes. Super generous people around here thanks a lot guys. Everyone wish we luck in tackling a transmission for the first time. Haha.

Watch out for those cheapies from PA. I had one exploded on me.

I had a PA wrench break in half on me once ... that was ... unexpected

Anybody who uses a torque wrench from princess auto is just out of their mind - it's a calibrated device ... good f'n luck it being accurate

My 1/2" torque wrench is from PA and its paid for itself more than once and still works awesome. Most people don't zero them out or properly use them and they cause issues.

But some are just made cheap or have issues.

I figured as cheap as it was why not. The bolts were so small and had to be torqued so low that the 3/8 drive was too big for the job though. Should have gotten a small 1/4 inch one.

Took the tranny apart and was shocked to see that the broken snap ring causing all the Ford owners so much grief was intact. Couldn't diagnose the issue and now I am back to square one.
