Hi guys,

Buddy is selling an old car here in Alberta, and my sister is interested, but she lives in BC. The car is an old civic and just $3000. What is all required for this car to be brought into BC? Does she have to do an out of province inspection or something? Never had to do this before.

It's a much better scenario to have the car safetied in AB prior to going to BC. With a passed safety inspection this now acts as an OOP. New West Trade Agreement came into place in 2015 and is, what I believe to be a better situation.

Hope that helps

Yes she has to do a new inspection here and pay PST. She will also have to rock a front plate.. So hopefully it has a front mount.

Thanks for the info. She decided to scrap that idea and just get a new cheap car there and pay monthly. Thanks for the input.

The owner of the car has to request the exemption though, so you can't do a fly and drive to BC and skate on the OOP :(
