VICE News has obtained footage taken from the headcam of an Islamic State (IS) fighter who died in March while battling Kurdish peshmerga troops in northern Iraq.

Unlike IS propaganda, which often presents sweeping battlefield victories, the video shows chaos, panic, and the fighters retreating.

The clash took place about 30 miles north of Mosul.

Interesting footage, little to no training, just seem to know how to load and cycle the RPGs/AKs/RPKs, at least they know the difference between HE and HEAT RPG rounds.

The YT comments basically sum it up though, it's like watching 3 best buds on a roadtrip where everything goes wrong (namely because of Abu Haajar  ), it just exponentially gets worse and worse, I have zero pity for them though.

hahahahahhaa what a bunch of tools. So unprepared. The ones in Europe seem much better tactically than these fools.

Is stop drop and roll an effective retreat defense against enemy combatants in an open field?

I couldn't even tell what they were shooting at, but they were getting hit from somewhere obviously.

They also seem to use rolling as their preferred method of transportation

At what point is it a good idea to grab one other guy, and head out to the front lines seemingly by yourselves?

I think it's a great idea for IS fighters to do that.

That murdered out truck was pretty hardcore. Personally, I love watching the stupid SOB's getting lit up. Allah akbar this :guns:

4:22ish you can see a Peshmerga/YPG outpost on the hill with some fortifications and such.

Around 2:00 the Kurds hit the one vehicle with an ATGM or RPG, 3:24 there's 1/3 of the convoy burning behind them plus their vehicle got hit, then the stop drop and roll/Abu Rambo ending.

Oh ok, I saw the hill, it just looked too far away to be shooting it with AK's so I thought maybe something was closer.

Something 300 yards away looks 50 miles away when shot with a GoPro.
