Does anyone know where I can find pure anhydrous 99.9XX% Isopropyl alcohol? I've checked a bunch of pharmacies and drug stores, none of them even have it behind the counter, just 70%.

Amazon occasionally has it in Canada but as of the moment it only comes from the USA but this is what I want. Also the last 3 times I've ordered liquids from Amazon, they exploded and leaked everywhere upon arrival because they ship them in bubble envelopes haha:

London Drugs told me they didn't have any haha, damn.

It doesn't say "pure anhydrous, safe for plastics" on it, but I don't know enough about alcohol to know if that is a given or not.

Can't help you on if it is safe for plastics but there inventory thing is usually accurate. Just call the stores that it shows has it in stock.

This.

Wal Mart pharmacy should have it too, usually behind the counter so you have to ask for it.

There are different types but yeah, I was just saying it is most likely the same, but I don't know enough about alcohol. I do know that some plastics don't like alcohol.

I only checked Costco online, I'll try in-store next time I'm there thanks guys. Although I probably don't need 4L of it or whatever Costco wants to sell me

Nope, need to clean a spot off a monitor and I am extremely picky. It's useful to have around as well, it's even a good tablet screen cleaner. It also works amazingly well at taking paint off hardwood floors but you don't need the 99% for that.

If packaging hasn't changed. It should come in plastic wrap of 4 pack, of 500 ml bottles. Should be (2013 ish pricing) $17-20 for 4 pack

Any pharmacy should have it over the counter in about 1L bottles. I get mine from Superstore.

I bought some of the costco stuff. If you want, you can swing by with a container and I can give you half a bottle. Already gave some away, but will take me a while to get through the rest. PM me if interested

Very nice of you to offer but it's cheap enough that I'll just grab the 4-pack next time I'm there - I also use the stuff for glasses, smartphone screens, etc. so I will use it eventually.

Sounds like Superstore has them too (sucks you can't see anything Superstore has online).

Also great for removing any filler the polish may leave behind on the paint.

What's the best way to go about using it to remove tree sap? My GF has some on her car. Just rub with a micro fiber, wash, and re-wax?

A few methods, starting from least aggressive...

1) Spray the area with QD, and cover the area with a MF towel that's also damped with QD. Let it 'marinate' for about 3-5 minutes, flip to a clean side of the MF towel and it should wipe off.

2) Clay bar. Spray the area with QD or clay lube. Gently rub the clay bar across the tree sap area. Keep the clay bar well lubricated. Clean the area with IPA to remove any clay residue. Apply sealant and/or wax after.

3) Use cleaner wax. Cleaner wax contains very slight amount of abrasive. Put about a dime sized of cleaner wax on an applicator or MF towel and rub on the affected area. Clean the area with IPA to remove any polish filler. Apply sealant and/or wax after.

London Drugs sells it but you must ask the pharmacist behind the counter.

Thanks

It's kind of weird sap - it's not that amber colored, transparent sap, but rather more like chewing gum. I can pick a lot of it off with my finger nail but the residue actually still stuck to the paint needs to be removed.

Shoppers had it. 6 bucks. 99% took her a minute to find it behind the counter.

I know your struggle to find this. Best place for the cheapest cost is UFA Farm Supplies. If you go to the Veterinary section you can buy large bottles for a tenth of the cost of electronics places.

London Drugs has it behind the pharmacy counter too. Just gotta ask (actually both 70% and 99% are behind the counter)
