Seriously everyone - go get a dashcam. I bought my crappy one off ebay for $14 shipped. Yes, it's a POS but it would clearly resolve any claim that you hit someone, etc.

(And no, I'm normally not that cheap but after my last $100 died, I figured I'd investigate disposable options)

Can you post a link to the one you got? ?so many cheap ones online just don't know what to get. ..

It works for the purpose, but isn't good. Video so-so, and possibly not even 16:9. Video on lcd is jerky, but ok in video. Takes forever to upload clips to computer (not sure if its the unit or my computer)

But it DOES work, and seems reliable enough.
