Would you rather drive a $50,000 civic or a brand new Honda S2000, for me its an easy choice the S2000. Why do you think?

No brainer, S2000!! Convertible! 240hp Stock! 9K Redline Stock!

A civic is just a civic, I don't care much for those cars:D

Welcome to the board Chu  (Why does this topic seem so familiar? ;) ) Anyways, I'd pick the S2K.

I can think of quite a few cars modded up to 50K that I'd drive instead of the S2K. If we're talking civic here though, then I'd take the S2K over it.

A $50,000 Civic is still just a Civic.

An S2000 is a *NICE* car right from the start! It was born a sports car.

Its an obvious choice to me.

hmm, depends...someone should do a test (heh yeah right) can a $50,000 Civic outhandle, outrun, outbrake and out:bigpimp: an s2k?

i dunno...but there are tons of civics, regardless if they show, go, stock or just plain gay it up, on the other hand an s2k is rare to begin with and come stock with plenty of show and go, and the only way to gay it up is to wear a pink tennis sweater around your neck when youre driving it with the top down

werd, me either! :D Civic's are waaaay over done but so are all the hondas. If I had to choose, I would pick the s2k over a 50g civic, teg, prelude, accord, EL, crx, del sol, etc.... (but that's just me).

I can't get rid of my civic yet cuz the look on my victim's face is priceless to me

edit: Damn, i just noticed that XES's prelude is for sale for 50g's... now that changes things.... now i'm torn:dunno:

NO offence to anyone, but I would never buy a car that had already been suited up.. I like my cars stock, then Its my
job to have fun being a docter. The car you drive shows YOUR
style and YOUR personality, not who ever suited up the car before. Anyway I would take the S2000, or If I could sell
the civic for 50k, then I would buy, a Lancer or a used Supra..:D

I think the point that Chu is trying to make is...
He personally doesn't see why people would buy a car, say a Civic, and put tons of money worth of mods into the car and spend a total of $50,000 in it after mods....versus buying a high-end car to begin with for the same value like an S2000.

He's questioning the motives behind spending huge sums of money on modding a car versus starting high.

It all depends on the amount of money you have to begin with. If the wallet is shallow, then it would be more feasible to start with a civic and put some money into it over time than say splurging on an S2K all in one shot.

In one respect you have to look at this as two different population groups. One that has lots of money to buy an S2K straight out, and those who don't have that kinda money and would have to buy a cheaper car and put money into it over time.

In Calgary you would be lucky to get a Refrigerator box with all of its sides intact for 50 grand man. Your "Mods" would be like " 4th wall, duct tape flap closure, maybe some plastic weather barrier..."

Some people have to realize that you will never have all that money at one time to buy that really nice car. It is easier to buy a good car and mod it over time.

I paid $32K for my car and already close to spending $10K already. I guess thats just the way it is. Then there is people like Rage, who has like 3-4 cars and a big house:bigpimp:

If I had 50 000 right now and I had the choice between those two.... S2000. No brainer.

But I'd rather have a 350Z or the 2004 Supra :werd:

i would have to go with the 50000 civic....if i could put my own mods on, i could have the car exactly how i want it, with the shit that i want...and it would be totally :bigpimp:
