Michu Meszaros, the actor who played Alf in the hit 1980s TV series, has died. He was 76. Meszaros' manager, Dennis Varga, told TMZ.com on Saturday that the actor had been dealing with a multitude of health issues since suffering a stroke back in 2008. He was taken to a hospital after Varga found him unresponsive in the bathroom at his Los Angeles home earlier this month. He never regained consciousness. Meszaros, who hailed from Budapest, Hungary, started as a performer with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, before stepping into the costume of ALF on the NBC sitcom. The friendly extraterrestrial nicknamed ALF (an acronym for Alien Life Form), was a puppet, but the show required Meszaros to wear the costume when they needed walking or running shots. He also had a cameo in 1988 film Big Top Pee-wee, and appeared in two Pepsi commercials with Michael Jackson. He also portrayed Augusto in Warlock: The Armageddon in 1993. Michu was 76.
