Although most aren't fans of the track layout, the long straight might actually be intersting. Bottas reportedly hit 351kmh and there might be some drag races https://streamable.com/5kx9 .

I'm a huge fan of this track. Reminds me of one of the Forza tracks. I'd say one of the best looking tracks on the calendar.

We will see how quali and the race go but so far I quite like the layout. Tree lined streets with buildings and some of the shorter run off areas make the track way more interesting than some of these newer wide open tracks.

From seeing what happened in practice this morning, it could be a very interesting weekend

What an epic track. So many flat out high speed corners in Monacoeque tight sections. Too bad it's not raining this weekend, it would be absolutely crazy in the wet.

The corner into the castle is going to be hilarious too. 20+ cars needing to get through there single file. I hope they remember how to zipper merge.

Kerbs were messing with the cars and tires also. My favorite part so far is the dry heaving cat:

Qualy was messy, so I can see endless yellow flags for the race. Quite uncharacteristic for Lewis.
I can see him crashing out tomorrow as this track isn't friendly to drivers under pressure.

Ham was great in FP, so it was surprising he was so bad in quali.

Messy qualifying. Should be an interesting race.

No safety cars today
Great race though. Thought Perez did a great job keeping up though the Kimi penalty seemed like it could have been a warning instead. Will be interested in seeing if they adjust the radio ban as there were multiple problems today.

I wonder what Hamilton changed on his car for Quali. He was dominating entire weekend up until the team made a change on his car setup prior to qualifying, and he just fell apart.

Didn't really live up to what I was expecting. Not even one safety car. No real inter team battles, no strategic high pressure pit stops, passes were straight forward into turn 1, nothing really exciting at all.

What are peoples thoughts on the radio ban? https://www.instagram.com/p/BG2UIDrzA27/

Seems like there was a ton of potential on the this race and ended up being one of the more boring races this year. Disappointing but that's racing.

As far as the radio ban it needs to be changed. Fixing issues with the car is one thing vs telling a driver how to drive.

Wasn't it because he had issues tapping into his ERS power? Rosberg apparently fixed it on his own, but Hamilton couldn't. It fixed itself at some point, and after that he set the fastest lap of the day. It's dumb that his team couldn't tell him what setting his engine needed to be in but that's the new radio rules I guess.

No that was just during the race. Hamilton mentioned in post quali interview that his team had made a setup change and he couldn't get comfortable with the car at all during qualifying, which is why his runs were all so scrappy. He almost ruined Rosberg's pole too, lost it in front of him on their hot lap with barely any time left. Same thing during the race, except that settings problem was just icing on the cake.
