Whats the rule for expiration of vanity plates?

If he stops paying for a few years is it up for grabs again? Seems weird its basically his forever. What happens when he dies?

I don't think there's any way to transfer plates. AFAIK, it's his forever.

Just like every other plate, it is yours forever, and will not be re-used.

I go into the registry, and register my truck. I get plate CLY-1234. That plate is now mine forever, even if I turn in the plate to the registry afterwards, it gets destroyed and it can not be re-used.

Vanity plates I have heard that it can be transferred one time to a family member. That's it.

Rage has said a few times that a vanity plate can be transferred once to a family member, but I have not verified that.

A personalized licence plate can only be transferred:

to an immediate family member, such as mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse, common-law spouse and in-laws.
between a company and the company owner, when the person is the only owner of the company.

Not sure if they would allow the first one with the 0? And second one has too many characters for personalized plates. 7 is still the max.

I already have the rage2 plate. I stopped using it because assholes would call my plate in for everything, even something as stupid as rush hour lane changes where it's me going into a "you snooze you lose" spot and they're not happy about it. I'd get a call from the cops a couple of days later and it just got annyoing. :rofl:
