Do we still have the snowpack in the mountains we had in 2013? We had a really mild winter here...

The 2013 floods happened because of a rain on snow event. It's far too late for that to happen now.

I've seen a few pictures of parking lots and residential streets being a bit flooded over the last few days. My gym has been closed for a couple days because they were flooded.

I am in the SW

This.

This year isnt anywhere as close to what the perfect storm was in 2013. We didn't have a warm enough spring to melt the snow in the mountains, so when we got a huge dump of rain in the mountains along with a sudden change in climate , it culminated in the 2013 result.

This year is just a wet fucking year  Still a lot of leaky basements and streets flooding, but not even 1/10th of what 2013 was.

There was certainly a lot of water outside my office today, with the stormwater drains acting like geysers. But just as I thought it was going to cause more serious issues, it finally stopped.

When you get this much rain in this small amount of time, I think it is inevitable there will be minor flooding. But, as mentioned, we didn't have the same factors that led to the big flood.

In other news, my lawn looks terrific... aside from not being able to be mowed in 2 weeks, it's greener than ever

Had to mow last night. It grew about twice as fast as usual.

Ditto. Mine was nearly dead as I was rebuilding my water collection system at the time and didn't want to use house water to water...but two weeks later...i got 11 x 55 gallon barrels full of water......and ready to water the lawn when the rain stops :D

The lobby and the 2nd floor of the Suncor Energy Center has many wet floor signs, and buckets.

You're allowed to build that where you live? Don't you have to have 4 ft of clearance from the fence? That is totally awesome though!!!

No way is it 4 feet, unless something changed, and I believe that applies to permanent structures only, this isn't really, just sits there on a frame with some wood planks to cover it up and make it look better.

Squirrels ate my roses, but they are also eating the mushrooms.

Crazy squirrels.

More like $4.92, could add up to some savings depending how much you water your lawn and garden. What I'm wondering is if eblend has a pump in order to water his lawn - I'm assuming a sprinkler which needs a certain amount of pressure to work properly.

Save $5 water, use $3 of electricity to pump it out.
