Can we make an official thread? Are there even any grom owners left on Beyond?
Wasn't able to find any on the Calgary motorcycle FB group, and there's never any for sale on Kijiji.

Anyway, just picked up mine a few days ago and it has pretty much pushed my 1000rr to the corner of the garage. This thing is so much more fun around town

So far the mods are:

Yoshi exhaust
Yoshi fender eliminator
Maxxis offroad tires

Sweet. Got mine over a year ago, same color.
It's a blast!

I'm going to install some offroad tires similar to yours because there are tons of gravel trails around where I am. Mine's stock for now.

The tires are a lot better than the OEM ones, but they're also a lot louder on the street. Especially with a stock exhaust, they'd be quite audible.
Are you in Calgary? We should go riding sometime

Never seen one, let alone heard of it. Now I must have:)

And whoever came up with the name "Grom" ?

I'm in Calgary once in a while but I keep my Grom at my work up North because there are a ton of trails I can bomb around in. Plus the town is small and a good way to commute too haha. Also, the bike is damn small so I can throw it into the back of a truck so easy if I wanted to bring it with me.

The offroad tires would be perfect where I am. Like you, I will be getting a elim kit and exhaust for it shortly. There is a guy on here (carzcraz) who put in a ton of work on his red 2014 model, probably just as much as the price of the bike itself in parts! I would be curious to see if he has made any more mods to his.

Would be hilarious to see a brunch of Groms and Ruckus' cruise around the city.

I sold mine. Being the only friend owning a grom is like driving a gokart with your buddies ferrari.

If I had more friends that owned them I would've kept it. Great little bikes, but I couldn't justifying throwing mad cash at it, modding it, when I still couldn't do the speed limit on deerfoot unless I was drafting an 18 wheeler.

I think Grom came from the name Grommet, which means small or something. It's only called that in North America anyway. Everywhere else it's msx125.

These bikes do have a ton of aftermarket. Parts are cheap too. I don't really plan on modding mine much because I've already done that to my 1000rr and now I always worry about the tiniest scratches or speckles of dust on it. I bought the grom to trash it around, I was even out riding in the storm yesterday.
I hesitate taking it on 70kmh roads, let alone Deerfoot. But holy hell, it puts my 1000rr to shame around tight corners. Even on 90 degree right hand turns, just glides right through at WOT with no braking.

I lm down for a ruckus/grom cruise. I think there's already a scooter cruise every week on 17th Ave, but a 'Ruckus/grom only' would be a lot less lame

Does anyone know of any offroad-type places in Calgary that would be fun on the grom? So far I've just been to parks in the evening when no one was around, and I've only heard of the bigger trails that are meant for 4x4's and the full on dirt bikes. Don't think the grom can take those on

I saw a gang of scooters yesterday at about 11:30pm going into queens land from bonavista at that bus crossing on bow bottom. They must have been rolling like 30 deep

Some recent pics of the Grom. If we can get like 5-10 grom/ruckus's together, a cruise would be nice. I'm not so sure anymore if there's even that many owners in Calgary.

these things are hilarious... love seeing them on the road haha. I'd probably get one if I didn't look like a monkey fucking a football on one with my size lol

I'm down for Saturday/Sunday ride if we can find a few more. I'm in the dirty south but I've managed to make it almost anywhere using side streets

Any Grom owners replace their tiny battery? Did you just suck it up and grab one at the dealer or is there a better alternative?
