Alright i got a sony deck from bestbuy and bought a 4 year warranty. This years models are out and i have my eyes set on one. One guys said "well if it doesnt work any more, than yeah well trade in when its under warranty". Basically meaning to break something on it. Well guys, i dont wana get screwed on this, and im wondering what the best way to break my deck is, so that way i can get a new one. I dont wana like shatter anything. Any ideas? My only one was to get some like sticky dirtyass cd and put it in in hopes of messin up the laser. Any simple ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

like how to get it wet? put a wet cd in. Well the guy said yano if it seems to not work, they will give me credit for a cdplayer and i will pay 10$ more to get the one i want. Ill double check what the warranty covers to make w/e happened accidental or some flaw. But as long as it doesnt function properly i should be able to take it in.

I'd just open it and rip something important off of the circuit board.. but they might get pissed if you can tell you opened it.

some guy told me to hook up to car batterys like pos of one to the neg of the otehr and hook them up to my deck and fry it on a 24 volt current, sounds risky, i mean i wana just get it to look like a malfunction, so i duno if theres a way my guess is getting it wet like you all said, but like would they open it up and be like why the hell is there water damage?

tie some copper wire around the fuse on it then touch the hot to the ground wire (fuse wont short out, player gets fried)

Just take out a fuse or something. That way even if they refuse to replace the head unit then you can pop the fuse back in and still use it.

You want to fry your deck? LOL, not really the best idea, but here's how you can do it.

First off, ENSURE that user error in installation will be covered by warranty - some have a clause that states that any warranty will be void if not installed by a pro.

Then take the fuse in the back, and wrap a bare wire around the two teeth and plug it back in. Now hook it up to a 12v battery and watch the smoke show.

If you guys haven't noticed yet, he's asking for advice on how to commit fraud.

And no, this won't be tolerated here, so closed.
