Due to some recent moves, my current daily commute is around 100kms/day round trip. Just curious to see what you guys are doing on the regular.

Edit: oops meant to make the last poll choice "76kms+" instead of "100kms+".

Mods, can you please edit poll. Thanks

I'm in a deep south community too, Auburn Bay to Balzac :nut: about 35 minutes on a good day which isn't bad and on stoney 90% of the time... but all of that wear and tear
I used to live in NW Calgary so commute was probably 35 kms round trip.

How do you rack up so many km's on your car if you live so close to work?

Driving from Aspen to NE daily and frequently to downtown with regular trips to Edmonton racks up the mileage rather quickly. Have already put 6K km's on the new vehicle in around 2 months.

~50km a day. Isn't it bad to drive your car over short distance regularly?

6-8,000km a month! Hell, I just clicked over 100,000 on our 2002 Olds last night - that's easily less than 600km per month for it's lifespan so far.

I drive 200-300 km a day, commute + service calls. Sometimes I work 7 days a week, sometimes I get called in twice a day. It doesn't take long to rack up the kms. I change the oil in my truck every month, I buy filters by the case.

+1

I currently drive 9 km's to a park & ride 9km's to downtown (1-way). Working on stretching that out to be more biking km's.

To and from the shop 50km round trip.
For work? 75,000-100,000 a year. Can't narrow down months since winter is the busy time

Daily commute is only 10 KM round trip. It's all the kid stuff that runs it up to 2000 KM - 3000 KM a month.

8km, 4 each way. I use basically No gas commuting which is great. All of the km on my car are from road trips.

Surprised at how far some of you commute. If my daily was any more than 100 round I might as well move to like Canmore or something.

Just under 5km one way to work. Kind of wish it's a bit further so i can enjoy the drive. Otherwise put about 13,000km/yr on the car.

22km one way to the warehouse, then 200-700km everyday on the work trucks.

I walk approximately 25 feet from my bedroom to my home office.

I just sold a Focus that had 25,400 km on it. I bought it 8 months prior with just over 22,000 km on it. Oops.

On a regular basis is much different than my daily work commute.
Work is only 7KM each way and I bike when the weather is nice. I end up running lots of errands, Costco runs, going to the gym ..etc. it works out to be about ~250/week.

25km each way on my Mtn bike during "non rain" days

When I'm not working, hardly at all. Now that I am working, it's 500-700km a day. Living in Medicine Hat and driving to Kindersley and back.

Used to be 28km round trip which I liked. Now I am 88km which is brutal and 94km if I drop the kids of at daycare.

Between the time wasted in the car and the wear and tear, it is annoying. I am averaging around 32-35K a year with total driving. If I like the new job I will have to ultimately move.

My commute it 10km each way. I bike about 30% of the time, normally take my wife's jeep when we are running around with the kids so I put about 12,500 kms/year on my truck.

I can't imagine you guys who commute over 40km each way. That would drive me absolutely nuts. We recently moved because my oldest is starting Kindergarten and doing the math, we could afford a significantly larger mortgage by dropping the distance my wife had to drive to school from 20km each way to about 3km just on fuel savings.

32 km round trip commute, SW to downtown. Ride my bike pretty much all year round (studded bike tires). If weather is really bad I'll drive to the ctrain station (<5km). My car gets used pretty much exclusively for road trips (wife has a Honda Fit that we use for errands).

I drive with a buddy to the airport and then fly 99% of the time, so barely anything at all for work. my kid just started taking the bus to school, so now there's no driving him to school.

both of my vehicles 2013/2014 have an average of 40k km on them. when I'm home on days off, I tend to drive quite a bit to Calgary though.
