My wife has a white rogue. I probably see 3-4 a day. very common. Any distinguishing features?

She didn't give me to many details guess the only distinguishing thing would be the plate number ......if they don't toss the plate.....hmmm sounds like this will be a hard find:dunno:

Details would be good. Also, check impound, thought I had a vehicle stolen but I actually parked where I shouldn't and it was towed.

Trim level? At least that way we would know what wheels to look for.

Trim level? Plate number? Interior colour? I could throw a baseball from my front door and hit a white Nissan Rogue in my area.

The year is meaningless as they all look the same to us non-Rouge enthusiasts.

just got it a couple days ago? i cant imagine these would be that easy to steal, gotta have some sort of immob... maybe the previous owners had a key still? or she had a captive key for a remote start? seems too easy...

reguardless, take the insurance and move on, i hate the feeling that someone else has even been in my vehicle without my consent, it'd be even worse knowing they had it somewhere else, doing who knows what in or to it... if i ever had a vehicle stolen i wouldnt want it back tbh

Heard a story about a junkie stole a MB and later recovered but in bad shape. Car went to Lonestar for repairs and staff won't touch it until haz mat team has gone thru the cleaning all the fluids and needles in the interior.

Stuff is nasty.

New info ........

Hey as everyone knows my vehicle got stolen. White nissan rogue BMR 0170
Just received news from a company In the foothills industrial that my tire and a bunch of stuff was ditched in their parking lot. Gamma tech industries. If you happen to be in the foothills please keep an eye out for a nissan rogue with a spare tire on it. I'm guessing front passenger as I was having issues with it before it got stolen. I'm guessing my vehicle is ditched in the foothills industrial. They won't drive too long on a spare it's too suspicious!

Seeing these threads, unless the car is super rare or you have some special attachment to it, you are way better off hoping its never found. It wont be tough to find another white Rogue...

My GM had his LR stolen out of his garage, they found the idiots in the car a few days later eating fries. They also had their personal mail and whatnot in it. People are truly stupid.

I want to see this gold steering wheel.

I imagine anyone who would want to paint a steering wheel gold would be ghetto and tacky enough to apply it with a paint roller

Could painting the wheel be an attempt to make finger printing tougher? (if it was done at the site they dumped it)

Care to explain why they would paint the steering wheel of a vehicle they were going to dump then?

Holy shit, I'd be livid about that. Who cares if the interior is fixed, there's a good chance mechanical issues could arise from this too depending on how it was driven. So much nope.

They're a common vehicle there's probably a wrecked one, grab the interior wheel and dash and call it a day. Not too costly for insurance.

I'm doubting that they were doing neutral drops or anything. But ya, it's an invasion of privacy.

yeah you never know what they did to iti'm not suggesting anything malicious, but perhaps if you have mechanical issues after you get it back you can have it associated with the claim...

dirtsniffer
10-12-2016, 08:13 AM
Maybe inspect the exterior and claim that the body was mint previously? or at least make sure that there is nothing new. Also, check the oil, tires, and brakes.

you can also claim diminished resale value due to the theft claim and that you wouldn't be able to sell it for the price you would have if there was no theft claim.

Thaco

insurance is negotiable, put up a big enough of a stink and they'll typically do what you want... i'd be blunt with them and tell them if they think its worth what you paid 2 months ago after its repaired, they can sell it.

Why anyone with a stolen car thats not extremely customized would want it recovered is beyond me. Poor girl got the shaft
