Round 2 is here already

It would be nice to have more tracks like this, plus the asian time zones make it possible to catch a race during normal hours

At least it's not a Ferrari 1-2 hehe. Excellent job by Mark Webber for splitting the Ferrari boys!

i can belive all the talk of driver swaps next year!!!

DC or webber to williams and panis is moving as well, ralf is supposed to go to jag and JPM to mclaren..i couldnt keep up with all the rumours!! and another thing that really surprised me watching qualifying last night is that ferrari pays mikey almost the same amount of money that minardi uses to fund their team for an entire year.. i knew minardi was behind in sponsorship cash but not that much! they get 53 million a year as opposed to ferrari and toyota that get in excess of 350 million a year... i guess you have to give teams like minardi and jordan some good credit.

Exaclty. Makes me more excited for next year. I heard Ralf could even go to Toyota or Renault. So if one of those rumours is true, whos going where?

BTW I would to see Williams BMW with one of the following combos:
1. Mark Webber with David Couthard
2. Mark Webber with Jaques Villeneuve

Nobody will hire Jaques, however it do find it humorious to see Sato lose it the big!!!!haha.

I hope Webber stays at Jaguar... I like that after (Ferrari's) 2002 season, people were able to compete last year, and this year it's 'little' teams like Toyota and Jaguar.

I just hope that someone like Alonso can pick up a Championship title whilst on a 'lower' team like he is now. Reminds me of Schumi's Benetton days... *recalls old days*

Gogogogo, just started on TSN!!! On lap 2 now!!!

Schumacher dominating as of right now, followed by Montoya, Raikkonen, then Barrichello <--- dropped 2 positions since opening lap.

Webber is getting PWNED!! that guy has BAD luck (messed up start, punctured tire, penalty...)

03-21-2004, 01:21 AM
Hahaha yeh, trying to speed in the pit lane.
[EDIT] More love for Webber, he's being lapped.

Whoa, whats with Alonso, Raikkonen and Barrichello all pitting at the same time??

Assuming Montoya can finish on the podium, he should say during the press conference that Ralf's Williams BMW blew up because he didn't take it easy and pressed too hard, cuz that's what Ralf did to him last year. Revenge would be funny haha.

blinkme_210
03-21-2004, 02:17 AM
Montoya isn't gaining anymore on Schumacher. Went from 2 secs, to 4, and now 9.... :werd:

Rofl, did you guys see Kimi after his engine gave out? One of the track crew tried to make sure he was ok, and Kimi shoved him away

1. M. Schumacher - Ferrari
2. J. Montoya - Williams BMW
3. J. Button - BAR Honda

Good to see it wasn't a ferrari 1-2! Awesome race, exciting all the way till the finish.

Montoya really kept up with Schumacher throughout the whole race. I hope that this "battle" will continue all the way to the end of the season.

good race :burnout:

btw..what was up with that toyota pit bs, I would be SO pissed if I was driving when that happened, first he goes in and crew wasn't ready or something so he does a drive through....and then gets penalized for speeding through the pits on that drivethrough so he has to do another one....he shuold have done more than finger the crew :D

Good race! Awesome first 20 seconds! Here's some notes I made:

- What a showing by BAR/Honda! If Sato could have finished, they would have picked up some decent points. Even though it meant Rubens was off the podium, it was good to see Honda pick up some coverage.
- Kimi acted like a sore loser when he went out. What a chump :thumbsdow
- Ralf showed little class with the tire incident. It was clearly his fault, but his arrogant comments were hurtin.
- Some aggressive driving from Montoya, but it paid off. I thought he would push the machine too hard, a problem familiar to Montoya, except this race he really looked like he knew his stuff.
- Webber must have some BAD karma. 'Nuff said!
- After this race, Toyota needs to stop their 'shit talking' once and for all. The pit incident was the icing on the cake. If anyone has any idea the amount of promo that Toyota put into this race, then you'd know that it's time for them to get better or get lost. "Watch us"? Haha, more like "Pray for us"!

I also found the announcer's were almost as incompetent as Toyota's pit crew. Since when is 22/56 laps less than halfway through?

Webber sure seemed like a jerk on the track. First he stalls (he must have been nervous) at the start. Then he pushes Alonso out to the pit wall, which did neither of them good. Then he cuts in to (was it Coulthard or R. Schum?) someone and blows a tire (whihc was both of their faults). He was not having a good day...

:werd: I was like wtf? the announcers on speedvision were even worse ahah...they kept making fun of the camera shots that were coming up "and there the director is trying some artsy fartsy shots..." "director is trying to find whatever bit of excitement he can...LOOK A PUFF OF DIRT FROM HIS TIRES"

TSN's announcers are a bit better than the ones on speed since you can actually understand waht they are saying

im really happy for jenson...the driver with the most points in f1 history to never make the podium!!! it was nice to see that come to an end... i hope honda can keep the reliability issue under control this year..felt bad for sato losing 8th place...oh well a good race none the less..and those announcers need to give their head a shake! in austraila he also said that the people there were canadians.... good job turbo.

WTF are you talking about:dunno: Webber had a clutch failure at the start, hence why he had such a slow start. Ralf hit him causing his rear tire to blow. I sure hope he doesnt stay with jaguar. Overall it was an excellent race. Tons of great battles all over the track. Lets hope the next is just as good. :)
