Drove over a concrete barrier or something.

Rough idea of what to expect in terms of cost?

Prepare for sticker shock. divorces are expensive.

ouch. not an easy one. mostly labour.

Cost I would recommend paying whatever your deductible is. Collision forgiveness ftw.

Not sure if I have that at this point. We made a vandalism claim in the summer when our Jeep got broken into :(

Time to talk to Bill!

She'd have to do a helluva lot worse than that for me to divorce her.

That's a major cut and weld fix I believe. $$$$

Track car? Lol

Friend had a similar incident on his new Sienna minivan. Was told it would be $1500 to fix.

And I was looking at it from the stand point of "what kind of stuff can I get away with now?" Buy another toy, then remind wife of damage to the car. Ahh...the freedom I would have. LOL

Any change a side skirt (oem or aftermarket) could cover that?

If I had a gorgeous thing like Cam has, she could total my brand new whip and I'd still be apologizing to HER for the undue stress it put her under!!
;)

Funny... I tout myself as a pretty good driver, but got myself in a similar situation a few weeks ago with the wife's car. Not as much damage though... mainly just pushed in the seam you're supposed to use to lift the car.

Crappy, man.

Cam the vandalism claim shouldn't have used up your accident forgiveness as that is not something that's your fault. I'd talk to your insurance company about it to verify.

$1000 to $1500 at a good body shop

I know of a splash and dash place here in Red Deer that would do it for $400 to $500 ish.

Good call. Should we get a sticker from the police first?

Holy smokes, that's inexpensive! Sounds to me like she'll be taking the car for a few quotes...

Ya if the damage is only like $2K or so, I think it's better to pay out of pocket and not waste your accident forgiveness.

As for the sticker, you need it before you drop it off for repairs at the shop and not necessarily for before calling insurance if you're going that route.

Good luck man, sucks having stupid, unforeseen expenses like this.

Thanks mate. Not a big deal in the scheme of things. Sucks its right before Christmas, but I'd rather it before Christmas than before tax season
:D

Dave's my boy. I'd never do something like that to him.

Besides, now I got leverage ;)

Hide with rugged black plastic accessories or chrome.

No I'm not joking ;) it's the least painful way, adding an accessory to cover up is most effective lol

Ironically, we bought the Jeep Cherokee because it has 9" of ground clearance. We traded it for the Mazda.

Lesson... learned?

you can always take it to micro paint and see if they can do a quick fix on it it'll be 1/3 the price of the bodyshop generally. but keep in mind the quality it could fall apart which is ok you can get it done twice more haha for the price of 1x at the bodyshop cuz she might do it again!

Didn’t read what everyone else posted but it can go as low as $500 from a shitty body shop to $1500 at a good one. Issues like this are pretty common of us.
