View Full Version : Get your FREE MONEY from ENMAX

Thaco

So enmax is giving a retention credit for people who mention the atco promo... basically free money for making a phone call or online chat... honestly the online chat was a little redicilous, it took like 3 hours to get someone, but i just let it run in the background and checked it every half hour or so, so it wasn't a big deal. Apparently they will credit up to $100 depending on your monthly usage.

Do you need to have Enmax your provider for both utilities in order to get this retention credit? I see you need both to get the Easy Max rewards. I have electricity with Enmax and gas with Direct Energy.

max_boost

^^

don't think so.

you call direct and you get it. you can enmax and mention retention credit and get it.

Do you know if you have to be on the fixed plan or can the variable rate plans take advantage of this?

Spoke with someone online who first offered $35. I said that I would likely switch since ATCO was offering $100 and they repeatedly refused. So I said ATCO offered $60 off based on this thread they matched that.

I'm in a condo using gas + elec.

15 minutes on online chat, totally worthwhile.

Anyone just make the switch?

-Atco you can pay by credit card
-Atco is $34 a year cheaper when you take into account both site fees & credits.
Atco = $(-3.50 site fee *2)*12months + $50 = -$34
Enmax = $(-7 site fee *2)*12months + $100 = -$68
-Atco Variable rate for gas is actually cheaper by .$10 GJ
-Variable rate for electricity is the same

I'm on easymax and I got a credit for calling in, but still thinking of making the switch. It's not significant...but it all adds up.

A top executive at Enmax was paid a $1.1 million bonus in 2015 bringing his total compensation to $2.3 million, according to company documents.

In the same period total compensation for the organization's top five executives exceeded $9 million.

It's not as bad as some companies, but I'd still consider that a mansion fund.

The information for Enmax isn't accurate. The $2.2M total was comprised of salary + retention bonus + performance bonus + defined pension contributions. Essentially income/cash, not expense related.

good question. I am in an apartment that has everything but electricity paid for so my bill is like $30/month. Wondering if it's even worth it. Some people say you need both water and gas to even qualify. When I had a house my bills were between 300-400/month so I could see getting some nice rebate there, but in my current situation I'm not sure I would qualify for anything really.

Mine is just electric. $37-39 a month (Condo). I actually use around $7 worth of electricity fees a month. They rest being fees.

They might have messed up on my credit. But im not complaining. I took a snagnit of the small chat box before the conversation ended.

A friend has a similar usage in a condo he only got $12 a month.

our average monthly electricity is around 750kWh, for the longest time on fixed rate of ~8c/kWh then i finally switched it to variable this fall so we should be starting to also save an extra 50$/month

I forgot to call till last week and the phones were always full (hang up try again later) so I'd try the chat and that was full too (it said to call in! :banghead: ).

Received my bill and guess what? They only gave me $45 and not the $100 as promised.

I called them back and asked for the balance of the money as I was promised and the dude on the phone spent 2 minutes explaining that it is a credit for the month of January 2016 and that is what Atco was offering blah blah blah. I let him finish and while he was talking I was searching for the recording of the phone call, once he was finished I asked him if he wanted to hear the call, the phone went silent, Hello, are you still there I asked. Yes please play it, so I let him hear it and told him don't give me anymore BS just give me what was promised, back on hold so he can talk to his manager, came back and promised me the balance of the $100.

Lesson to everyone, record all calls on your phone and save them just in case you need the proof. Without the free app Call Recorder I would have been out $55.

This is not the first time this app has saved my ass. +1 for technology :clap: :clap: :clap:

A little extreme for $55 but good for you. Technically they weren't supposed to offer you a straight $100 credit since it was based on consumption for last January. If I had to deal with you, I'd put a warning note on your file for other reps to prepare themselves.

See the thing about the whole offer is that there was never a mention of a promotion to begin with. I called them and asked them how to switch to Atco, they offered me $45 credit, I refused then they offered me $100. No mention of a promo at all. Now they are bringing up the promo, that's great however the credit wasn't based on any promo. I just went through the same thing with buying my new car, they offered me winter tires, no mention of a promotion. When it came time to pick up my winter tires they told me I get 18" over sized tires and not 19" as that was the promotion they had. Same thing; my deal was not based on a promotion so don't mention that again, my deal was based on me buying a car and if there was a promotion going on, then now I feel like you own me more, long argument and at the end of the day I took home 18" over sized tires, decent rims ($700 retail) mounted, balanced and placed on my car for $400.

I'd flag my own account too, but better yet why don't these companies just tell you the truth and not play this game. When I call Enmax the first time he told me $100 but put down $45 in "the notes" So either someone changed "the notes" or he outright lied.

Not sure what was a little extreme, the fact that I called them on their bullshit, not being taken advantage of or recording the call. Recording the call is automatic, all my calls are recorded just like my dash cam they are in a loop so oldest ones get overwritten and can be saved as I feel.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you would have not called in and just sucked up the loss, if so I've got a few things to sell you, call me and we'll chat on the phone...:thumbsup:

The "Promo" always was just a retention deal, giving you the same thing as if you'd switch to ATCO as ATCO was the one actually offering the promo of free utilities for January.. Enmax just made it in to their own promo code so the normal call center people could field the calls instead of escalating them and making it more work for the customer.
