I've recently broken a bunch of my craftsman hand tools that I bought about 11 years ago. Are there any Sears stores in Calgary that actually carry a good selection of Craftsman tools anymore that I can pick up warranty replacements?

I went to the one in south center when I broke the first ratcheting wrench and besides a standard screw driver set and a few sockets they didn't carry anything so I was given a 1-800 number to call and try to get the tools replaced. When I gave them the part number stamped on the wrench they couldn't find it in their system (even though when you type it in the same tool comes up on sears.ca). Instead of replacing the tool they sent me a $10 gift card to sears that I had to pick up from the store (coincidentally they sent it to Red Deer then were surprised why I didn't pick it up).

I've since broken a flex head ratchet wrench, a regular ratchet wrench, a 3/8" swivel joint, and a 3/8" strong arm. I just want my tools replaced and the 1-800 number is a nightmare to deal with and I haven't gotten anywhere with it.

Sounds like poor customer service might be a strategy for them.

Marlborough mall used to be the place for repairs (ratchets etc they give you rebuild kits)

My bulletproof and stab proof vest has expired and I haven't tried recently ;)

North Hill Mall has nothing for tools for your replacement.
Switch to Power Fist and buy a few.

I went back to south center yesterday after having Sears customer service hang up on me a few times while transferring me to a different department. Besides not having any tools besides a 1/2" ratcheting wrench and like 6 sockets, they also don't have anyone working in that department right now apparently. The lady that works in the vacuum section and the dude selling mattresses were told to cover it. Neither one knew what to do so they rummaged in the back for about 20 minutes then took my info to order me in the wrenches.

If they break again I'll just switch to mastercraft. I don't want to go powerfist for wrenches and I don't do enough to jump up to mac or snap-on. Craftsman and Mastercraft fit into my work category just fine.

Also for future reference the "Warranty Tool Replacement" number they gave me is 1-888-473-2772. Best of luck if you choose to call it though.

After seeing this thread I recalled I had 2 screwdrivers and 1 nut driver that were broken.
I went to the one on 36 st and the lady told me they can't give warranty because they pretty much have no tools anymore. I was able to find a nut driver on the shelf so she swapped it for me, no screwdrivers though. I was told to go to north hill for the screwdriver warranty as they have a service counter. She also told me that store will close in April and Sears is dropping the craftsman brand in Canada this spring.

I go to North Hill and the lady there tells me that the craftsman warranty is outright denied. Sears will no longer warranty any tool whatsoever. The other lady told me to take my screwdrivers to the USA because craftsman is its own company down there and they should warranty them. Um sure.

In conclusion, don't bother with Sears for anything anymore.
