Has anyone traveled in Europe without booking rooms in advance? I like to plan trips out and typically have my itinerary and hotels planned well in advance but it definitely limits you in terms of freedom. I've been on trips with friends where we booked only the next night in advance. I've also met travelers who will look for a hotel/B&B/hostel based on wherever they are at the moment. Please chime in with book as you go experiences in Europe or elsewhere.

if you're travelling by yourself, it might be easy to find an empty bed at a B&B or Hostel, especially with services like AirBNB.

but also it might depend on the season you're going

Unless you want to book the flying pig in amsterdam you can usually book a few days in advance and have no problem for hostels in Europe..
