ok, let me rephrase it cuz it sounds kinda stupid the way i asked it. Under what category would a Celica be listed? Sports compact, sports car, etc?

Toyota Canada considers the Celica and Solara as sports cars on their website. Not sure why the Solara is classified like that, it's basically a 2 door Camry which is a family car. However I tend to agree with C4S that the Celica is more of a sporty hatchback, certainly not a true "sports car".

Depends on the model.

Alltrac/gt-four/turbo4wd models are sports cars, since they are modelled after the WRC cars...just like the STi, EVO, etc.

Other models are sport compacts, including the 2000-2004's.

70-77's might be considered a sports car in their time as well, not sure...

i would say sports compact, just like the civics HBs.. hmm wut is the RSX considered??? since those cars are rivals they should be in the same category..
