Personally, I love watching this, great fun just to have it on in the background while doing work.

I think the record price as of yet is a 1952 Bel Air which went for $152k.

I believe Henessey Venom GT Spyder (Steve Tylers car) goes up tomorrow.

Have seen a few Canadian hats or Jerseys in the crowd.

Anyone else following?

Any ballers there?

I've been there all week, watching the whole thing live but I don't have a bidders pass. Just watching and taking in the whole experience.

Weather is crap out so I wasn't tempted to go touring around the state.

Stopped by the local Scottsdale McLaren dealership and some motorcycle dealerships, pretty amazing the cars out here.

Ran into Michael Phelps at breakfast the other day.

Steve Tylers car up, barely hit at $650
All funds going to a cheque
He threw in his house rental miami

Sold for $800, 000

So what is going on?
IMO that car is at least a 1 mill vehicle.
Have seen quality classics go for cheap.

Economy done?

Barratt Jackson is always unpredictable. It's an auction and all depends who the bidders are.

Ya I thought Steven Tyler's car would be a mil fairly easily. 1/13, famous owner, charity.

They had a 89 R32 GTR went for I think $34K. WHY????? Are they really that much? I thought people are importing them for like $10-12

Numbers are down, a lot of cars not meeting reserve. Has the bubble popped? Quite possibly. There was a 70's 911 RS tribute car on Bring a Trailer that only hit mid $60's. A year ago that was $100k.

As for the R32, I don't know what is involved in getting one legal in the US. Are there federalizing costs involved? For sure you could buy one here a few years ago under $10k but lately they have been harder to find - especially a clean stock one.

Ya I noticed they don't mention on tv if the reserve was met, not sure when they brought that in at barest Jackson. Back 10 years ago they use to be no reserve correct?? When I was watching last year they always mention if he reserve was met.

The JDM market has exploded since the cars of the early 90s have started to become legal in the states. Companies are even buying up the newer stuff and storing now. Type R S15s have gone from $8-12k up to $20k+ because of that too

There's not much of a cost to federalizing the R32 for US as it's now over 25 years old and legal. :poosie: As ercchry explained, it's purely a supply demand issue driving up prices.

I asked Shohab a couple years ago to find me a clean unmolested R32 GTR. They're unicorns these days.

I stopped watching when it went to velocity... but apparently the beib's 458 went for $395k?!? I don't beilebe it! Who would pay that for a hacked up 458 driven into the ground by that idiot?!

Edit: $434.5k

IMO this was the best deal under 20 grand:

Easily worth what it sold for. Value for money is crazy.

Maybe it was just the window in which I was watching but it seemed the whole "restomod" thing is dead? There were a few years there where tossing a handful of catalog parts at dam near any muscle car and slapping on some black or red paint got you crazy numbers.

Well bought! 1,500 pounds and 50 hp.

My aunt had a gold "Special Edition" with dealer installed air conditioning under the dash. She ordered it, no test drive, the dealer was sold out of all Hondas in Regina.

Still going strong but more refined now. It's kinda tiresome seeing vortecs with a fancy engine cover crossing the floor I'll admit.

That said I'm following a few old ford trucks being repowered with ecobooooooooost, so I expect that will change in the next few years.
