In the process of building a home. When it comes to cabinetry, are there any specific reasons to lean to one type of wood/grain over another?
From a quick google search, alder seems to be softer (does it really dent/scratch that easily?), whereas maple is harder/more durable.
Not sure if Calgary weather should play a role in the decision?
We are leaning towards a dark grey or brown (in alder).
Any input is appreciated.
