Reservation line opened up this morning and it was impossible to book a spot as usual. Keep hearing how great this hike is (dunno if its gonna live up to the hype). Anyone that has done this hike wanna chime in? I'm thinking about showing up on a random day and hope for no-shows on the bus or just hike the 11km to the lake.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Alpine Circuit. It's on my list.

Wasn't there a hike thread not too long ago? I'm sure you'd get more info there or move this thread to the main sports or general section.

Lake Ohara has many trails and hikes. wanna do a overnight but couldn't get the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) Elizabeth Parker lottery, or the always fully booked campground? your best bet would be reserving Abbot Pass Hut that always saves seats for people reserving.

is it worth it? absolutely.

these were taking during my trip to EP hut with the family the latter are my mountaineering trip to abbot pass and Mount Lefroy June 2016
