i have no problem with any of the taps inside the house, but my two external lawn hose hook ups always seem to have air in the lines for at least the first 30-45 seconds after i turn it on.

i have frost proof spigots and this has been happening since we moved in. no sign of any leaks anywhere.

any idea why this happens?

Isnt that normal? The frost proof spigots have a vacuum breaker which is probably leaking air until there is enough water pressure to seal it.

Yeah, that's the point of Frost Proof spigots, so there's no water in the lines to ice up.
