So I went to Canadian Tire today to cut a blank (with electronics housing) that I got from eBay. Nope... they won't do it unless you buy their $90 replacement housing. No thanks.

So does anyone know for sure who will cut these full-assembly blanks?

Calgary Lock & Safe near 32ave NE, forget which street exactly.

Had them do both Lexus and BMW keys with provided blanks, which nobody else does.

Really? Not sure if the lol means you are joking, or you think it is funny it's so easy?

I'd try Head's Lock & Key Works just off Macleod behind the McDonald's. Twice they've been able to get me oddball shaped keys that nobody else seems to carry, and of course they were able to cut them. Hell, it was the key guy at Home Depot that recommended me to them when they couldn't cut spares for one of my locks. I don't even bother running around anywhere else any more. I just go straight there.

Downside is they're open terrible hours.

Home Depot cuts keys. Well the one on Country Hills does anyway! If not Aboe on center street north.

They're in the complex where speedtech used to be. 32nd near the golf course and Shell.

They cut my Mini keys from Britain. Only place in the city that can.

So, I did try Home Depot on 36th but nothing going. The woman there seemed not really to know how to use the machine properly, but even when she got to the right menu option in the computerized menu it ended with 2004 for Jeep. (Mine is a 2005). So I took the key to Calgary Lock & Safe, and they cut it for 2 bucks. 99 cents for the shell from eBay and I have a brand new fob for $3. Thats much better than the $90+ Crappy Tire wanted to charge me, and obviously WAY cheaper than the stealership.

Thanks for the suggestions.
