How much have you guys paid to change out your standard garage o/h door opener to a Liftmaster elite 8500 (or something similar) and to revise the track to be high lift up to the ceiling?

I recently had this done through the builder. Cost was $1350 for the package.

Found some companies on kijiji, prices varied from $1200-1300.

Hope that helps

^^

Did you also have the tracks revised to be a high lift door?

Seems like reasonable pricing. Our builder is doing the upgrade to the liftmaster 8500 for $450 and upgrade to the highlift tracks for $400 (which seems stupid as its less material, but whatever).

Tagging along...

I'm amazed - current prices are what I was charging when our dollar was at par and springs weren't running stupid $.

The cost is largely in the springs - one beyonder had 600$ worth of springs on their door alone (was 2 @ 6' duplex (so 4 springs, one set inside the other) my back clearly remembers that door to this day)

But there was a couple doors where I could do 2' of high lift on 5" drums with a 'stock' spring - so those could be done significantly cheaper.

Sorry

Just re-checked my change order. I paid $1050 for the Liftmaster 8500 and high lift tracks. Not sure why I thought it was $1350.

Well those prices are extras. Base spec includes a regular o/h door track and standard opener. So that should be taken into account.

Morrison charged $196 to upgrade to the Liftmaster 8500. I think the standard was the Liftmast 8355. This did not include adding an extra outlet at $56 for the side mount as the overhead outlet remained for the remote light. Didn't get a price for the high lift track though.
