View Full Version : Spotted a Segway in Calgary downtown!

While I was admiring a pass-by Volvo V70R (Charcoal Gray + brown leather... nice!) at the intersection of 8Ave and 6St SW, there's suddenly a Segway passed by!

Sorry guys, I was in a shock that I didn't remember to take a picture of it with my cam phone. I didn't expect to see one in Calgary... and it moves so fast. Well, not really a car, but it has 2 wheels so think that it's counted as a street encounter ;-)

They rent 'em in tons of larger cities. Vegas has tons of 'em.

I played with one when I was in Hawaii, it was pretty cool. Wife couldn't catch up to me haha. There's a key for 3 different modes/speeds, but the rentals only had the slow key.

Wow soooo lazy... i can think of the guy that invented it now... some 400 pound American... "WALKINGS FOR SUCKERS". lol i'd still want one though.

With the fast key, it's should top 12mph/20kph.

Speical mod for a company took it up to 15mph.

San Francisco has banned all these scooter type vehicle because of injuries.

Recall is due to scooter falling when juices runs out and it can't balance itself anymore.

actually the inventor was dean kamen i believe.....
hes done quite a bit for medical science, and is crazy rich (and not fat hahaha). i believe he has quite a few patents etc and he does quite a bit for chariites/ children. he was on CNN a while back.

yea I was watching tlc or something and they were doing testing because they wanted to give them to the united states postal service to use.
