Spotted this going down Deerfoot this afternoon, took me by surprise. You can tell a lot of time and effort went into this .... thing. Looked to be really well done...

I guess "the minivan" is now two in the front and 12 in the back?

99% sure it's an early 2000s fiat strada extended cab.

Not a Strada - tail lights and rear side window are wrong for a Fiat.

Yes it's a caravan. The guy who built this lives down the street from my mom. What's really crazy is that bed and tailgate are on rails to slide out a couple feet to hold longer items.

He previously built a yellow one and custom sewed up a tent for the bed that after sliding out was a great camping unit. He sold the yellow one a while back.

I've looked pretty close and it seems to be good craftsmanship. He's getting old and has some health problems so I doubt he'll be making any more. I did have a chat with him and he said making the custom tent for the orange one was on his list, but he wasn't sure if he would have the energy. I guess the sewing is a real bitch.

I may be able to grab some closer pics.

People like that have mad skills/ability that amazes me. I'll post up pictures of two other complete home builds this evening, crazy stuff.

It is the Pacifica. I was able to be close enough to see the badging on the front. But for all intents and purposes, they are the same as a Dodge Caravan. Unless he fitted the Pacifica grille to a dodge caravan... Could also be the Town and country thing i guess. I may be using the wrong model name.

Anyone seen the Chrysler 300 turned Ute? I've seen it driving in Forest Lawn a couple times but haven't been able to snap a picture.

01reddx is totally right. That may have the town and country van with the chrysler badging, but it for sure ain't no Pacifica.

Likely what you saw is the 2004-2007ish Chrysler town and country minivan converted. And the badging you saw, that's the chrysler badging, pacifica doesn't have it's own badging.... : http://www.allpar.com/cars/chrysler/logos.php

I believe it was originally a Dodge Grand caravan and he only used the tailgate from a Chrysler town and country because of the steering wheel.
Check out the interior work too.

Also passed a next generation town and country right after. Had to snap a pic. So hawt.

the box rails are from a 2001-2004 supercrew F150. so it has a 5.5" box.

Is it fwd? I imagine the weight distribution is completely fucked

Probably not that bad. His hardware for extending the bed is likely quite heavy. Plus he actually does carry loads with it quite often like a real truck so that helps.

And yes, these were all fwd.

The old Pacifica was the same chassis as the Mercedes R class.
